PHOENIX – Arizona State Senate Democratic Leader Priya Sundareshan (LD18) released the following statement welcoming the newly appointed Senator for Legislative District 9, Kiana Sears: 

“First, I want to applaud the Maricopa Country Board of Supervisors for their quick work in approving this appointment. Our caucus is pleased to welcome Kiana Sears into this role and look forward to working with her as we remain committed to delivering real results for Arizonans. 

Sears joins the caucus with over 25 years of experience as an academic and professional public administrator. Her dedication to making Arizona a better place for all people will serve the people of Legislative District 9.”  

Sears will be officially sworn in on Monday, March 31st on the Arizona State Senate Floor.
